KAVO DENTAL CHAIR - WIPE DOWN PROTOCOL
Wipe Clean
Using a NEUTRAL DETERGENT clean the dental unit surfaces.
Cleanest to dirtiest:
Benchtops > operating light > bracket table top > bracket control and hangers >handpiece tubing > upholstery > suction lines > suction handpieces > spittoon
Wipe Dry
Using a LOW LINT cloth wipe DRY the dental unit surfaces (this removes diluted biosoil left from wet wipe)
Cleanest to dirtiest:
Benchtops > operating light > bracket table top > bracket control and hangers >handpiece tubing > upholstery > suction lines > suction handpieces > spittoon
Disinfect
When disinfecting this needs to be a 2 step process = clean then disinfect
Although disinfecting is not required as regular as cleaning, you may want to disinfect after long procedures/high touch parts of the dental unit (buttons, handles and instrument handpieces)/end of treatment session morning/evening.
Disinfectants have specific contact times so pay attention per the manufacturersrecommendations.
Wipe Off
Using a dampened MICRO Fibre cloth wipe OFF the daily residue build-up of your detergent from the dental unit.
(this is crucial to ensure the equipment overtime doesn’t discolour or isn’t damaged by left on residue)
